How to install an eSIM on Google Pixel: add, configure, and test
Install an eSIM on Google Pixel through Network & internet. Select the data line, configure roaming, and check that the connection works.

On a Google Pixel, add an eSIM through Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM. Complete the scan, select the new eSIM for mobile data, and turn on roaming when you use the travel plan.

Check the model and region
eSIM support depends on the Pixel model, sales region, and carrier. Find the exact device in the HolySim device checker. Also confirm that the phone is carrier-unlocked.
Google describes the current steps for setting up a new eSIM on Pixel. Menu wording can change slightly after an Android update, but the path starts under Network & internet and SIMs.
Add the eSIM with a QR code
Open the HolySim code on a laptop, tablet, or another phone. Keep the Pixel connected to Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Choose SIMs.
- Tap Add SIM.
- Choose Set up an eSIM or Download a SIM instead?
- Scan the QR code.
- Tap Download or Set up.
- Wait for the eSIM to appear under your SIMs.
Some Android versions show Internet before the carrier and SIM settings. Use the search box in Settings and search for SIM if the path is different.
Set it as the data line
Open the new eSIM under Network & internet > SIMs. Turn on Use SIM. Select this line for Mobile data, and leave your regular SIM selected for calls and SMS if the HolySim plan only includes internet access.
Give the profiles recognizable names. Personal and HolySim travel are safer than two lines that only show a network name.
Turn off automatic mobile data switching if you want to prevent unexpected use through your regular carrier. On recent Pixel devices, this option may appear under the SIM or data settings, and its name is not identical in every software version.
Roaming for the travel eSIM
Tap the HolySim line and turn on Roaming when you want to use the plan at your destination. Make sure roaming is off on your regular SIM if your own plan does not cover the country.
Keep network selection on automatic at first. Manual network selection is only useful when the plan instructions list specific partner networks or support advises it.
Test mobile data
Temporarily turn off Wi-Fi. Open Chrome and load a page that is not already cached. Check whether 4G, LTE, or 5G appears in the status bar.
An eSIM that appears in the menu but cannot find a network has been installed. Check the destination, active line, and coverage. If a network is visible but there is no internet, check the mobile data and roaming settings. If you see No service, check the active line, destination coverage, and automatic network selection.
If the download fails
First check whether the profile is already listed under SIMs. Then restart the Pixel and try once more on a regular Wi-Fi network without a VPN or sign-in portal. Do not keep scanning if the code is reported as already used.
Do not delete a partially added profile. Take a screenshot of the error without showing the QR code, and keep the model number, Android version, and order number ready for support.
