Which OPPO phones support eSIM? Compatible models and device checks

OPPO supports eSIM on selected Find X and Reno models, but not on every phone from the brand. European versions of the Find X3 Pro, Find X8 Pro, Find X9, Find X9 Pro, and Reno14 are among the models with official documentation mentioning eSIM. Always check the full model number and the Dutch or European product specifications.

Apple, Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, and Motorola models must also be checked by exact model and sales region before you assume they support eSIM.

OPPO models with confirmed eSIM support

These devices have eSIM support in official European OPPO sources:

• OPPO Find X3 Pro, model CPH2173, depending on the carrier;
• OPPO Find X8 Pro, model CPH2659;
• OPPO Find X9;
• OPPO Find X9 Pro, model CPH2791;
• OPPO Reno14 in the Dutch version.

This is not a list of every OPPO version worldwide. OPPO also sells models with the same series name but a different SIM configuration. The Dutch Find X9 Pro specifications, for example, list Nano-SIM, Nano-USIM + eSIM, while regional product pages may differ.

Not every Find, Reno, or A-series phone has eSIM

A new OPPO phone is not automatically compatible. SIM hardware differs by model and market, especially within the Reno and A series. A store listing that says Dual SIM also does not necessarily mean that one of the lines is an eSIM; it may refer to two physical SIM cards.

Do not use a general rule such as Find X3 and newer. A Pro model may support eSIM while another device from the same generation uses a different configuration.

Check an OPPO yourself

Open Settings and search for eSIM. Depending on the ColorOS version, the feature may be under Mobile network, SIM card & mobile data, or a similar SIM menu.

Then complete these checks:

1. Open About device and note the model number.
2. Look for an EID in the status or SIM information.
3. Check whether Add eSIM or Manage eSIM is visible.
4. For a carrier-supplied device, ask whether the phone is unlocked.

An EID belongs to the built-in eSIM. If both the EID and the eSIM menu are missing, that version is probably not compatible. Changing the language or updating ColorOS cannot add a missing eSIM chip.

Why you need the model number

OPPO uses codes such as CPH2173 and CPH2659 to distinguish versions. This code is more reliable than the sales name in an advertisement.

Check especially carefully when you have:

• a device purchased outside Europe;
• a refurbished OPPO with no information about its origin;
• a carrier version from Asia, Australia, or the Middle East;
• a Find or Reno model that only lists Dual SIM.

Compare the number with the official specifications for the Netherlands or another European OPPO website. On that page, look under Mobile network for the SIM card type.

Combine a regular SIM with HolySim

Many compatible OPPO models combine a nano-SIM with an eSIM. You can keep your own number on the physical SIM and configure HolySim for mobile data.

Give the lines recognizable names. Select the HolySim line for mobile data and only enable roaming on that line when the plan requires it. Turn off automatic data switching if you want to prevent unexpected roaming through your regular carrier.

The exact options differ between ColorOS versions. In every version, confirm separately which line handles calls, messages, and mobile data.

Add an eSIM in ColorOS

On a supported OPPO phone, the process starts in the SIM or mobile-network menu. Choose Add eSIM, connect to Wi-Fi, and scan the carrier’s QR code. Then select the new profile as the mobile-data line.

If the QR code is reported as used, do not keep scanning it. First check whether the profile is already listed in the SIM menu and contact support before deleting or retrying anything.
