Which Motorola phones have eSIM? Check Razr, Edge, and Moto G

Motorola supports eSIM on selected Razr, Edge, and Moto G versions. There is no reliable rule that every new Motorola phone has eSIM. Official European manuals mention the feature for the Razr 60 series, several Edge 50 and Edge 60 versions, and the Moto G34, among others. Always check the exact model number and SIM configuration.

Motorola models with confirmed eSIM documentation

Motorola lists an eSIM option in European support documentation for these recent models or families:

• Motorola Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra;
• Motorola Edge 60 Pro;
• Motorola Edge 50;
• Motorola Edge 50 Fusion;
• Motorola Edge 50 Neo;
• Moto G34 in supported versions.

This list does not guarantee compatibility for every variant and is not a complete historical overview. Motorola regularly uses the same product name for versions with different SIM capabilities. The Motorola Edge 50 support page therefore says that the phone may support eSIM and advises asking your carrier for details.

Razr with eSIM

eSIM is common in the foldable Razr series, including recent Razr 60 models. Older Razr 5G versions may also have the feature, but the region and carrier remain decisive.

Do not check a Razr by release year alone. Open the SIM menu and look up the model code. This prevents you from confusing a US or Asian carrier version with the European device.

Edge with eSIM

Several recent models in the Edge series have eSIM, but Edge 50 as a family name is still too broad. The Edge 50, Edge 50 Fusion, and Edge 50 Neo have official European documentation that mentions the eSIM option. Documentation is also available for the Edge 60 Pro.

A product specification stating Dual SIM (1 nano-SIM + eSIM) is clear confirmation. If it only says Dual SIM, check whether Motorola means two physical SIM cards.

Moto G with eSIM

eSIM support is less predictable in the Moto G series. The Moto G34 has an eSIM option in certain European manuals, but you cannot apply that fact to every Moto G with a higher number or a newer release year.

For this series, checking the model number and sales region is not a formality. Consult the official support page for your exact device.

Check it yourself on a Motorola

On recent Motorola software, you will usually follow these steps:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Network & internet.
3. Select SIMs & mobile network or SIMs.
4. Look for the option to download and set up an eSIM.

Search Settings for eSIM if the wording is different. Then check the model number under About phone > Device details and look for an EID among the device identifiers.

If you see neither a download option nor an EID, do not order an eSIM yet. An Android update can change the menu, but it cannot add missing eSIM hardware.

Regional variants and carrier locks

Motorola often writes in its support documentation that a device *may* support eSIM. That wording is deliberate: SIM configurations can differ by market, carrier, and model code.

Check particularly carefully when you have:

• a device purchased outside Europe;
• a phone from a foreign carrier plan;
• a refurbished Motorola without the original product code;
• a web shop listing only Dual SIM.

Also ask the original carrier whether the device is unlocked. An eSIM chip does not override a carrier lock.

HolySim alongside your regular SIM

On a Motorola with nano-SIM plus eSIM, you can keep your regular number and use HolySim for mobile data. First give both lines a clear name.

Then select HolySim as the mobile data line. Enable roaming on HolySim when the plan requires it and disable it on your regular SIM. Turn off automatic data switching if you want to avoid foreign usage through your home carrier.

Configure the default lines for calls, SMS, and data separately when using Dual SIM.

Add an eSIM on Motorola

Connect the phone to Wi-Fi, open the SIM menu, and select the option to download an eSIM. Scan the QR code or enter the manual details supplied with the profile. Then briefly test mobile data without Wi-Fi.

Do not delete a profile after the first error message. First check whether it already appears under SIMs and verify the code, connection, and installation details if scanning fails.
